Artist Michael Fishel was born in 1950, and even from a very early age had a keen interest in drawing and painting and was fascinated with the illustrations of the great fantasy masters of old. Michael attended the John Herron institute of art in Indiana in 1971 and shortly thereafter set out upon a course to bring his unique fantasy visionary art to the canvas. In 1975 his art had caught the attention of many cutting edge publishers of fantasy visionary art at that time. The Big O Poster Company located in the U.K. published his paintings as full color 24 x 36 in. posters in 1977 alongside such renowned artists as Roger Dean, Rodney Matthews, and H.R. Giger. In 1980 he began illustrating children’s RPG books for the Dungeons & Dragons Company. In 1984 Michael painted fantasy book cover art for the authors H.P. Lovecraft and Richard Adams. Over the years Michael’s art has been published as posters, prints, greeting cards, and jigsaw puzzles. Michael is now is living in Austin Texas and is creating art in the digital medium.
